No. QRfound does not locate the bike. You learn the place the finder enters.

Mark a bike against loss
A bike is left at the station, the shop or the gate and then it is gone – or someone wants to return it and does not know the owner. A QRfound sticker on the frame gives that person a contact without your address on the paint.
For an honest finder, not for tracking
QRfound does not tell you which street the bike is on. There is no transmitter and no map. When someone finds the bike and scans the code, you can talk to that person.
You still need a lock. A sticker does not stop theft. It helps when the bike is still there and the finder wants to return it.
Where the code should sit
Frame, seat post or under the saddle. Readable, but not the first place a thumb rubs it off. A laminate keeps the print longer. Create the item as a bike so the page shows that icon.
Frame number and receipt stay your papers for a report. The QR code is not an official register.
Any phone, no battery
Android and iPhone scan with the camera. The finder needs no account. The message goes to your email, including the place if they enter it.
In a cellar without reception the page does not load. Outside, or on Wi-Fi a minute later, the same sticker works. There is no battery to change.
Cost next to the lock
The first 3 items are free. An extra pack contains 10 items for 5.00 € and lasts 1 year. The bike can be one of the free items. Further bikes, a helmet or a child seat can have their own codes.

Does this replace a police coding scheme?
No. Keep the frame number and a lock. The QR code is the contact path for people who found the bike.
Does the finder install QRfound?
No. The camera opens the page in the browser.
